Jan 9:
PERAK'S Liberian striker Frank Seator has been advised to peak
quickly or face the axe.
This is the warning issued by team manager and Perak
FA deputy president Datuk Jamal Nasir Rasdi, who as the Perak FA
deputy president will take one final last look at three more foreigners
before deciding on the four imports for this season.
Seator's impressive form last season in which he scored eight goals seems to
be to his credit, proving good enough for Perak's to convince team officials to agree to see his contract
extended for one more season.
Seator, who went home for Christmas, He has returned
and will
have to work extra hard to catch up for the lost time
. If he fails to show urgency in training he may find himself on
the way out. With a Ghanaian striker and a Brazilian showing
interest with the silver state.
"If he fails to impress we
will terminate his contract and look for another striker." Jamal
said . Seator should take the warning message as a serious one as he is aware of what happened to some of the foreign players whose
contract was terminated prematurely due to loss of form.
Brazilians Flavio Galvao, Carlos Alberto and Robson Pereira were
sent back midway of the season.
Currently, Perak have three foreign players in training and apart
from Seator, who will be playing for the Premier 1 champions for a
the second year, the others are defender Luciano Goux and midfielder
Ricardo Silva — both from Argentina.
Jamal said he is on the look out for one more striker to
fill the quota of four foreign players to help
campaign both in the Super League as well the inaugural AFC cup.
An established striker from Brazil, who is 21 and currently
attached to with English Premier League team Portsmouth, and
Ghanaian Kim Grant currently playing in Portugal, are both the
two being seriously considered." "The duo are expected to arrive in Ipoh tomorrow (today) and coach Tony Netto is planning to
field them during the friendly match against Selangor on Saturday
night in Shah Alam." This is where they will have to impress team officials
to win the last foreign slot with Perak." He said.
Meanwhile, Jamal said he will also come down hard on and the local
players who will have to pass their fitness test before the match
against Selangor on Saturday. night.
" "The fitness test to be supervised by FAM officials is a must for those playing in the Super League as well in Premier 1. Those
who fail to pass the test will also have their contract terminated,"
said Jamal. — R.G. RAJ "They may be stars or internationals but the
decision has been taken and those who fail the test will face the
axe." Jamal added.
