Colleague’s Death
By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL)
has identified with the management of The News
newspaper following the death of Bobby Tapson, who
was a member of SWAL.
Last week, the President of SWAL, Hilary Justine
Colnoe signed the book of condolence at the offices
of The News on behalf of SWAL.
Mr. Colnoe subsequently explained that he was
at The News to identify with the newspaper’s
management and staff to extend the deepest sympathy
of SWAL for the loss of Tapson.
The SWAL President described the deceased as a
devoted member of the association and one that was
willing to make a little contribution for the
upliftment of SWAL.
“It is an irreparable loss and we as officials of
SWAL are in prayers with the bereaved family and The
News that the Almighty God will comfort them in this
time of bereavement,” he stated.
Mr. Colnoe added, “It is our fervent hope that
promising journalists will emulate the good examples
of the late Tapson.”
He noted that Tapson was discipline and
professional colleague at all times during his
earthly sojourn.
“We as SWAL will miss him and hope that life
perpetual will shine,” the President of SWAL
concluded.
