SOS Call For
Padmore!

The Sports Writers Association
of Liberia (SWAL) has launched SOS call to rescue its founding
member and veteran Liberian Sports writer, Mr. J. Caesar Padmore
who’s dying slowing.
In an interview with the
association’s Vice President, Mr. Lewis Konoe, he stressed the need
for sports authorities in and out of Liberia to come to the call in
an attempt to save Mr. Padmore life.
“We’ve come to the press today
in a friendly and public manner to say that our comrade has been
sick for more than two years and need urgent assistance.
The Sports Writers Association
of Liberia (SWAL) in this manner would like to launch SOS call for
our colleague so as to allow him get back on his feet.
“This is the right time to come
to the aid of our fallen colleague and don’t wait until he dies.
“Anyone who follows Liberian
sports from the 80’s up to present should know about Mr. Padmore
.“We want to call some top sports personalities including Rep. Edwin
Melvin Snowe, former president of the Liberia Football Association
(LFA), Cllr. Sombo Izetta Wesley, President LFA, Mr. Garmondeh
Karnga, president, Mighty Barrolle Sports Association (BSA), Mr.
Joseph Farkollie, president Promoter of Liberian Athletes (Prola),
Mr. Musa H. Bility, president, Watanga FC, Mr. Jenkins Pelenah LFA
deputy Secretary General, Mr. Malik Dukuly, former Vice president
IE, Mr. Mustapha I. Raji, president LISCR FC, Mr. Musa Shannon,
former president, FC AK, Mr. Andy Quamie, Senior vice president,
Watanga FC, presidents of all sporting associations and federations
as well as all Liberians,” SWAL vice president noted in a very
serious mood.
Meanwhile, in an interview with
Mr. Padmore, he hailed the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) which
he works with for giving him months of sick leave.
Mr. Padmore said he has been to
numerous hospitals concerning his illness, but was only told he has
malaria.
“I can’t understand which
malaria the hospitals are talking about. I stayed for a protected
period at the ELWA hospital, but my condition remained the same.
“I am now asking for assistances
from well meaning Liberians in an out of the country as well as well
other organizations to seek medical attention. The MYS has been a
great help to me, but you as well meaning citizens must now come to
save my life.
“My colleagues in the United
States of America especially Omari Jackson are asked to please come
to my aid,” the founding member of SWAL noted in a rather tearful
mood.
