Plot To
Unseat LFA Boss Uncover

The president of Second Division Club Diamond FC, Mr. Ebenezer
Barclay has exposed a plot to unseat the president of the Liberia
Football Association (LFA), Cllr. S. Izetta
Wesley Mr. Barclay disclosed: “As we are preparing to commence the
2009 National League, there are information received that some clubs
are holding secret meetings to unseat the incumbent president of the
LFA, Cllr. Wesley, with a vote of no confidence.”
The Diamond FC boss added: “We believe that it is not health because
such intension is not in the interest of football.”
He recalled that before the 2008 national league commenced, there
were lot of confusions that led to the LFA leadership and aggrieved
clubs going to the headquarters of the Federation of International
Football Association (FIFA) in Zurich to settle their dispute.
Therefore, Mr. Barclay thinks there are other ways of engaging the
LFA in settling disputes instead of disrupting the pending league as
was done last season.
He advised that if stakeholders deem it necessary to remove the
incumbent LFA president, they should await the 2010 National
Congress that calls for elections in order to vote Cllr. Wesley’s
leadership out of power instead of taking the local football house
to public ridicule once more because the body is owned by the clubs.
He declared, “Cllr. Wesley is just one person out of the entire
Executive Committee. So, if there are problems, there are methods to
be used in solving them instead of holding secret meetings.
