The Olympic Conqueror F C has taken an appeal against the technical
committee of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) executive
committee, on the decision to have the match between the Olympic
Conqueror and Devereux re-scheduled for Thursday, June 8.
According to a communication addressed to the LFA’s Executive
Committee, the club says the previous communication from the LFA
citing them to the reschedule match did not explain in detail how
the technical committee reached their decision.
The club Secretary General, J. Grody Dorbor is quoted as saying,
“the committee which investigated the disruption of the match
between Olympic Conqueror FC and Devereux that was scheduled to have
been played on April 26, 2006 at the Bong Mines field, did not serve
a copy of their finding to the team’s executives before
re-scheduling the match”.
He noted that they were never invited for the investigation and
neither was a communication given to explain who responsible for the
disruption of the match.
The team’s Executive expressed that the hearing of the appeal will
enable both parties to know the rules governing such issue.
It can be recalled on April 26, 2006 the match between Olympic
Conqueror and Devereux was disrupted while players were in readiness
to play.
In that direction the Liberia Football Association on Monday, June
5, 2006 issue a letter to the two teams citing them to the
re-schedule of the match.
