Nimba Wins County Meet!

Nimba County has won the 2009/10 National County Sports Meet competition organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

  Nimba emerged victorious in both the football and kickball categories of the month-long   tournament.

  Nimba defeated bitter rival Grand Gedeh County 2-0 on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex to lift this year’s football trophy.

  In kickball, Maryland was the victim as the Southern County was edged by determined Nimba County 3-2 in the jam packed SKD stadium in Paynesville.

Meanwhile, Bong County retained the third place title with 4-3 dramatic penalty shootouts against Grand Bassa County. More to come
