Mwanjali handed Warriors' captaincy

Zimbabwe’s caretaker coach Norman Mapeza has named Method Mwanjali as his captain for the match with the Lone Star of Liberia this Sunday at the SKD.

Zimbabwe Reporter.com said the former CAPS United utility man was handed the captain’s armband for the Battle of Monrovia in the absence of regular Warriors captain Benjani Mwaru-wari and his deputy Esrom Nyandoro.

Mwanjali expressed delight for his preferment and made no secret of his ambition to lead the Warriors to win in Liberia.

The Mamelodi Sundown defender spoke of the support and commitment of the rest of the team to make sure of the victory.

Method Mwanjali is a former captain of the home based team and also led the Warriors to Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup success on home soil last year.

Mean while a high power Zimbabwean delegation is due in town this Friday.
