More Drama, Upsets Expected in LFA Current
League

MONROVIA, August 5 --The excitements, drama and upsets that have
characterized the second phase of the Liberia Football Association
(LFA) is expected to continue this weekend in Monrovia and other
venues.
In the first of such an encounter, Kebeh FC and Shooters Sisters of
Logan Town will clash in a female derby at the Antoinette Tubman
Stadium.
Another expected entertainer that may favor the George Haddad
Alliance FC is their duel against Mighty Blue Angels, while Barrick
Young Controllers (BYC) and USA invaders will close the day's
activities.
On Sunday at the same venue, Watanga FC will sort things out against
Mark Pro in an all premiership affairs, while the final pairing of
the day will put premiership second placer LISCR FC against NPA-Anchors.
LISCR is expected to parade players like goalie Jerry Bing, Gizzie
Dorbor, stylist player Jacob Toe, and “Finisher” Ben Martins.
Players Vatalise Sieh and Frank Nagbe will be on nerve-breaking
performance to help increase NPA-Anchors points on the league's
elite table.
The league's biggest weekend derby will take place at the Doris
Williams Stadium in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County when premiership
leaders Mighty Barrolle handles the heavily attacking (4-3-4
formation) side LPRC-Oilers.
Players Alex nimely, Eric Weeks, league's top scorer Nuzohn Kolala
and promising defender Solomon Grines are expected to beef-up the
Karnya Pepper boys effort.
Two separate venues in Margibi County will be the beehive of
activities.
The first beneficiaries will be the fans of Unification Town who
will be entertained by an expected tense but, even duel between
Invincible Eleven and Bassa Defenders.
Later at the same venue, Roots FC will welcome Monrovia Club
Breweries in a premiership clash to close the day at that venue.
The first battle at the Nancy B. Doe Sports ground in Kakata, will
feature Zelor FC against Karn United in a first division affairs,
while female sides Kortie IE and Determined Girls will decide who
goes home smiling.
At the ATS meanwhile, on Wednesday, the New Kru Town-based Diamond
FC went down 3-1 to United Green Eagles in a second division match.
Earlier, Determined Girls edged out female opponents Antares Sisters
1-0.
At the Ocean View Bong Mines ground in Logan Town, Tito United
humiliated Shooters Sisters 7-1 who played with only nine players.
Tito's Mary Kpeh hit twice in the first half, and immediately after
recess, she was fouled in the vital area while attempting what would
have been a hat trick. Her teammate Christine Jipply converted the
spot kick.
Players Fanta Keita, Patience Williams and Isabella Cole too added
their names on the score sheet.
The stylish and most improved player Princess Powo hit Shooters
Sisters consolation from the spot, but missed another spot kick on
the clock.
In post-match interview, Tito's president Henry Yonton vowed that
his side is going to retain the title, and admonished both players
and supporters to remain focused during their remaining matches.
That win now places Tito top of the second division league table
with 38 points.
LTC Satellite defeated Roza FC 3-2 in the last match in Logan Town.
In the day's expected opening match in New Kru, Determined Girls won
forfeiture after Queen Sisters failed to show up.
At the D. Twe High Sports Pitch, Small Town FC forced Fulani FC to a
one-all draw.
The competition continues next Wednesday at three venues.
Mighty Electrons FC of ELWA and Fulani FC will open activities at
the ATS, while NPA-Anchors and Monrovia Club Breweries end the day.
In Logan Town, Pro Anchors and Queens will play in game one, while
Devereux FC will engage New Georgia Pirates.
Tito United and Kebeh FC will warm up the D. Twe Pitch in female
pairing while Roza FC sorts things out withOlympic Conquerors in the
last duel.
