Mennoh Hails Teammates
August 8, 2006
Liberian international Stephen Mennoh has hailed fellow Indonesian
based players for lifting the recent Lone Star fund raising trophy.
"I would like to commend my teammates for a job well done. Though it
was not something so big, at least they have shown to the sporting
populace that there is football in Indonesia", the former
LPRC-Oilers tank man hinted through a telephone conversation with
the authoritative Analyst.
He then used the opportunity to call on the requisite sporting
authorities to step up the pace in preparing the Lone Star for the
2008 qualifiers.
"There should be at least two international friendly matches before
the opening clash against Equatorial Guinea," he intimated.
The explosive man in the engine room currently plies his trade with
Persita Tangaran where he has fellow countrymen Fallah Johnson and
Oscar Glaydor as teammates.
Mennoh had a stint in Ghana where he featured for premiership outfit
Bofoakwa, and was tempted to naturalize in playing for the Ghana
U-20 in the Argentina 2001 competition.
He was then persuaded by the legendary George Weah to return home in
justifying his inclusion with the national team then known as the
famous "Weah 11".
His quest to continue his soccer career landed him at LISCR and
helped them win the runners-up slot in the top flight.
He later moved to LPRC-Oilers, and made his international debut
against the Scorpions of Gambia in the Banjul in 2003.
He got the Lone Star lone goal in the win against Ethiopia at the
ATS in continuation of the 2004 Nations cup qualifiers.
The harder worker left the country in 2004 for Indonesia. At his
first club Sriwujaya he served as captain, and later transferred to
the 'purple and white outfit of Persita.
