MYS Opens Book of Condolence for Fallen Coach
Wilfred Lardner - Former Lone Star Coach
The Ministry of Youth & Sports has officially announced the death of former Lone Star Football Team Head Coach Wilfred Tijani Lardner, who died recently at a local hospital. Mr. Lardner also worked for the Ministry as sports coordinator for a number of years until his death.

In a release issued, the Ministry will today open a book of condolence for the fallen coach. The book will be opened between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Ministry, located at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.

According to the release, those expected to sign the book are government officials, past and present players of the national football team, all sporting bodies, including the Liberia Football Association and the Liberia National Olympic Committee, present and past sports officials, the Lone Star Mobilization Committee, first and second division team players, and the general public.

The Ministry is deeply saddened by the passing of the man, who qualified his country to its first ever Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa in 1996.

We extend deepest condolences to the widow and the rest of the deceased’s family and the entire country for the loss of a compatriot who was committed to national duty, the release concluded.
