Lone Star U-20 female soccer team has returned home after crushing
their Algerian counterparts 3-2 in the first leg of the CAF U-20
preliminaries in Algeria.
The team arrived in the country yesterday.
Speaking to the LiberianSoccer.com, the head of the delegation Mr.
David Kortie said Liberians should rest assured that they have a
competent and young female national team.
He said the team is one of the best in Africa and with the support of
the Liberian people more is expected.
“Though things were not too fine when we first got there, but we went
to get a win and at the end of the day, we secured our three points,”
Mr. Kortie added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sport, Cllr. Jamesetta H.
Wolokollie, in a joyous mood, promised that her administration will
invest in the national U-20 female team.
Minister Wolokollie praised the team for their wonderful performance
and assured them that she will not let their effort go in dust.
