Lone Star wins first competitive match

Reported by Horatio Bobby Willie

The Lone Star of Liberia has won its first competitive friendly match.

The Lone Star beat An All-Star selection 2-0 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Eric Weeks and Junior Wilson were the scorers for the national team.

The Lone Star was scheduled to meet Liberia’s Indonesia based Liberian players but the arrangement broke down at the last minute.

Four Indonesian based players that were named to the team by coach Frank Jericho Nagbe featured for the Lone Star.

The team is set to move to camp this weekend.

Earlier at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, the Under-17 team defeated their Under-20 counterparts 1-0.
