The head coach of the national team has increased the number of foreign-based players for the Equatorial Guinea match slated for next month.

Coach Frank Jericho Nagbe requested the increase in a communication to sports authorities on Thursday. Coach Nagbe had made three additions to the list of players. The three players named are all from Indonesia and are currently on vacation in Liberia.

They are Steve Mennoh, Perry Kollie and Esiah Benson. The latest addition has increased the list to eight players.

The technical staff named Kelvin Sebwe, Francis Grandpa Doe, Louis Crayton, Murphy Nagbe and Anthony Laffor on Tuesday.

It is not known whether the Sports Ministry will accept the increase in the number of foreign-based players.

Meanwhile, Deputy Sports Minister Marbue Richards has reported a threat on his life. Minister Richards told Star Radio a group of local fans made the threat on Thursday. The Deputy Sports Minister had gone to the Antoinette Tubman Stadium to identify with the local Lone Star team.

He quoted the fans as saying that “we know where your properties are and we would burn them down if lone star does not win” He said the fans accused him of influencing the decision of Lone Star head coach Frank Nagbe.

On Tuesday, the Ministry released a list of five foreign-based players submitted to them by Coach Frank Jerico Nagbe.
