Liberia’s expectation to play in three international and relevant competitions is nearing a failed ending.

Liberia started the journey with an African Nations Cup qualifiers home March against Zimbabwe last year that ended 1-1 in Monrovia.

A month later, Liberia Under-23 football team was placed against the Shooting Star of Sierra Leone in a London 2012 Olympic qualifier. The match ended 1-1 in Freetown, when Liberia striker, Sam Johnson level things for Liberia during the away game.

The returned leg of the 1-1 Freetown game finished 1-1 in Monrovia after full time, the game winner was determined from the penalty spot where Liberia advanced to the next stage.

The most favored slot of the FA was the Olympic ticket. The plan  was thrashed by the Ivorians. They won the Under-23 4-0 in Ghana and settle to a goalless draw in Monrovia.

The next event is the road to Maputo, Mozambique, Liberia first leg in the qualification was a 1-1 encounter  with Nigeria Dream Team on Sunday in Monrovia.

Liberia will travel to Nigeria on the 5th of May to see who advance to the next stage of the qualification.

Meanwhile, Liberia’s Senior National team the Lone Star is bottom on the group stage table with 1 point from three games. The next match will be the home leg against Cape Verde in Monrovia after suffering a 4-2 loss in Cape Verde during the first leg
