Under-17 Off To Gambia

According to the Chief Scribe of the
Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mr. Yanqueh S. Borsay, the
tournament is in commemoration of the 10th celebration of the
military coup staged by the incumbent Gambian Leader, Yaya Jammeh
against the constitutional government of Sir Jawara.
The FA's chief scribe said 10 countries
with in the sub-region have been invited to participate in the
event. Although he felt short in naming the countries that would
form part of the tournament, he however confirmed Sierra Leone's
participation and said that the Liberia under-17 side will stop over
in Sierra Leone before moving to the Gambia.
Mr. Borsay said Liberia's U-17 will leave
Sierra Leone together with their counterparts of that country.
Meanwhile, a communication addressed to the
Liberian Embassy in the Gambia, a copy of which was displayed to The
INQUIRER, named those on the trip to the Gambia as J. La-Marks Kedoe
(Head of the delegation), Peter Vuku, Deputy Minister of Sports,
Navaro M. Saykie(Coach) and Francis A. Tamba as Deputy Coach.
Players named on the trip are Aloysius Kedoe, David Lloyd, Melvin B.
Kpan, Sackie Doe, Augustine Dave, George Wreh, Alex P. Mulbah, Golay
F. Robin, John Barnes, Wefia Beyan, Prince Tamba, Abraham Cokie,
Victor Carr, Christopher Tweh. Others are, Mark Jadoe, Seh Coleman,
J. Kobee Weah, Morris Dukuly, and Jefferson Z. Zoebeh. Albert Jaja,
Assistant Chief Scribe of the Sports Writers Association(SWAL) and
Partick Paye are on the trip as journalist and referee respectively.
