Lone Star
To Miss Varmah Kpoto

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The national soccer team of Liberia the Lone Star has lost one of its
regularly men in defense.
The Mighty Barrolle central defender Varmah Kpoto will be out of
action for a while due to injuries.
Varmah was injured during the crucial league match between his side
Mighty Barrolle and its bitter rival Invincible Eleven (IE) recently.
He began serving his injuries by missing out in Barrolle's 2-0 win
over Shoes FC last Saturday.
Kpoto, who once played in Greece, will without doubt be missing for
the Lone Star against the Lions of Teranga of Senegal in the 2006
African Cup of Nations and World qualifiers in Monrovia on October 10,
2004.
Varmah would be out of the Lone Star for the first time since
Kadallah Kromah went at the helm of the Lone Star.
He last player against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Lusaka where the
Lone Star fell 1-0 from a late Kalusha Bwayla goal.
The injury to Kpoto must have given rise to rumors that the
Indonesian-based defender Joseph Amoah has been recalled to the
team. |
