Lone Star Fund Raising Tourney Underway

      02/04/2004)Monrovia-A three-day tournament is imminent in Monrovia to raise funds for the national football team Lone Star as it prepares to participate in the combined 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers.

     According to the Lone Star Fund Drive Committee, the tournament would involve Mighty Barrolle, Invincible Eleven (IE), LPRC Oilers and LISCR FC.

     The organizers said the tournament would be played on a knockout basis beginning Saturday, February 7, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) when Mighty Barrolle takes on LISCR FC.

    On Sunday, February 8, the Yellow Boys, Invincible Eleven (IE) will engage LPRC Oilers.

    The winner of each match will meet in the grand final on Wednesday, February 11, at the ATS.
