Lone Star Calls John Moses

Greek-based midfielders Oliver Makor and Kevin Sebwe
refused by KK and the Lonestar coaching staff

The national soccer team Lone Star has included a veteran of Liberian soccer John Moses for the match with the Lions of Teranga of Senegal on October 10, 2004 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.

Moses, currently playing in Hungary, comes in the picture at a time national head coach Kadallah Kromah is in search of a potential goal scorer.

Coach Kromah has justified his decision to call Moses from Europe after the Lone Star scored just one goal in four matches in the African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

The Greek-based midfielders Oliver Makor and Kevin Sebwe have reportedly offered their services for the Lone Star but Coach Kromah said there are too many midfielders available unlike the attack where goals have failed to come for Liberia.

Moses is said to have played for the same club that Coach Kromah once handled abroad, no wonder why the national tactician has placed such a trust around the player's neck.

Moses has been playing in the diaspora since the civil war began in 1990. His soccer sojourn took him to Ghana, Cameroon, Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Moses is no stranger to Liberian soccer after making his mark for FDA Foresters and Mighty Barrolle prior to the war.

Everyone may know the John Moses that was one man to rely on when it came to scoring, but he will have to prove whether he is still good at that when the big match comes on October 10.

Moses was in Liberia early this year to assess the possibility of playing for the Lone Star. Before leaving, he declared his intention before being replied by the Lone Star.
