Goals from Barrack Young Controllers (BYC)
defensive midfielder, Queenjay Continanta and a last moment striker
from substitute Jasmine Rangers’ hit man Freeman Mulbah were enough to
see the Liberia Football Association (LFA) All Star secure a 2-2 draw
against their illustrious opponents, Liberian Foreign based players on
Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in
Monrovia.
The Foreign Based had earlier taken a 2-0 lead
through deadly forward Ben Martins of Zesco United in Zambia and a
second half strike from Egyptian side Al-Ahly attacking ace Francis
Grand Pa Doe, but LFA All Star Coach, Abraham Sese of LFA 2009 knock
out champions Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) made four changes which
resulted to a vital draw.
Mighty Barrolle versatile midfielder, Wilfred
Greenfield was considered man of the match by the Sports writers
Association of Liberia (SWAL) after the lad wholeheartedly engaged the
match and created some killer passes which caused the Foreign squad in
a bit disarray.
The second match of
the three-day’s soccer festival organized by the Sports Writers
Association of Liberia (SWAL) in collaboration with its partners,
Vantaa Sports and the Pioneer Sporting Group (PSG) comes on Thursday,
31st December, 2009 at the same venue beginning at 4: PM.

Meanwhile, to boost the efforts of SWAL in such timely tournament, LFA
Executive Committee (EC) member, Mr. Musa Hassan Bility, who is also
President of LFA premier club, Wantanga and probably a candidate for
the LFA 2010 presidency, has pledge two days free commentary to be
provided by Truth FM.
