Liberian Players
Ungrateful!

Coach Lardner, who
is on record as the first Liberian coach to take the national team
of Liberia to its first African cup of nations

Current and former players of the National team
of Liberia, Lone Star are said to be ungrateful and have being
described by many as unsympathetic with the latest that no Liberian
player plying his trade oversea sympathized with the family of
former Lone Star head coach, Wilfred “Kajaniel” Lardner who died on
the early morning of May 11, 2009.
Coach Lardner, who is on record as the first
Liberian coach to take the national team of Liberia to its first
African cup of nations in South Africa 1996, was laid to rest on
Saturday, May 30, 2009 with no Liberian player whether in or out of
Liberia paying tribute.
“Liberian players have shown how ungrateful
they are by not paying tribute to the fallen former Lone Star Coach
who made record for this country.
“I logged on to
www.liberiansoccer.com and bought the local newspapers as well
as listened to the radio in Liberia, but did not hear any word of
sympathy from any Liberian player whether in or out of Liberia.
“This is consider ungratefulness and heartless
attitude of our players toward the man who coached some of them,”
one follower of Liberian football noted in a rather frustrated frame
of mind.
The most unbelievable one was that South
African based Super Sport United Liberian International striker,
Anthony Snorthi Laffor is in Liberia, but refused to attend the
funeral of the former coach.
It is not yet clear whether some paid secret tribute, but
www.liberiansoccer.com can confirm that no Liberian player ever
pay tribute to coach Lardner
