Liberian forward gives brilliant display for the home crowd

BY PETER CHAN
IPOH: Perak's Frank Seator has had greater moments. But Saturday's Super League match against Sabah will remain etched in his mind forever.

“I will remember the match for a very long time,” said the former national Liberian striker after he played a sterling role in making the first goal and scoring the second in Perak’s 2-0 win at the Perak Stadium here.

But what's so special about the match? After all, he had scored similar winners in many matches before.

“I wanted to win it for the fans. I did not want the 20,000 crowd to go home feeling miserable. They were absolutely fantastic with their support.

“I also wanted badly to score against Sabah because I fired blanks against them in both semi-final matches of last year's Malaysia Cup competition that we lost,” said Seator, who was choking with emotion after the match.
The 28-year-old said he had a strong feeling he would score especially when the weather cleared on Saturday evening after two days of continuous rain.

“Something told me I would score against Sabah. Maybe it was just a gut feeling. But I knew I would score.

“And when I scored, I felt so good. So many people were cheering. It was a great moment,” he said.

Seator also played a major role in Perak's 25th minute opener.

The striker brilliantly chested a high cross from fellow forward Khalid Jamlus for Argentine Ricardo Silva to drill home.

Then in the 71st minute, Seator capped an outstanding performance by netting Perak's second goal.

Seator's displays also earned him praises from coach Toni Netto.

“Seator was just fantastic and he also has good attacking qualities. If he continues to perform like this, I am confident we will improve further in the standings,” Netto added.

Netto also expressed surprise over Sabah's lack of fitness as they were a spent force even before halftime.
