Liberian Soccer Academy Wins
Championship In Ghana

Two of Liberia’s (U-12 and 14) sides of the Assisted Care for Africa
Children Impacted by Adversities (ACACIA) Soccer Academy, based at
Buduburam Refugee Settlement has emerged the Central Regional
Juvenile Soccer Champions in Ghana.
The Tournament was a Ghana Football Association (GFA/KJFA) organized
Juvenile League was the first of its kind for a Liberian side to
pick the championship.
The Liberian team only defeat suffered at the hands of Almighty
Sovereign Academy of Kasoa in its first and home match.
The defeat served as a turning point and revived the Buduburam boys
to return to action with wonderful and exuberant skills of Liberian
soccer display.
The team played without defeat in their subsequent matches through
the round- robbing stage, qualified hem to second position for the
qualification to make it to the Top-four stage.
At the top-four stage/second phase of the tournament ‘ ACACIA at
both levels (under 12 and 14), increased their soccer superiority
and emerged as the over all winners with 30pts while Sovereign
Soccer Academy came second with 24pts.
The Central Region Champions, ACACIA is scheduled soon to prove it
status in ‘The Champion of Champions League’ to be held in Accra.
While in contention at the regional level, the two sides (U-12 and
14) of ACACIA, won a one-month’s special tournament, for Buduburam
youth soccer teams alongside.
The tournament, which brought together several equally talented club
sides at the Settlement, was organized and sponsored by the ACACIA’s
Academy Management.
It was meant to keep the youthful soccer lords in form for the
regional competition where they top also all.
Mr. Cal Afun, the Settlement Manager who took the kick off,
encouraged the youth to take the football profession seriously and
as well attach discipline to the career.
