Liberian Refs Get CAF Assignment

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

Three Liberian referees are expected to be involved in the qualifiers of the 2005 African Youth Championship.

The trio is the Chief Football Referee of Liberia, Alex Nagbo, Buster Snyder and Augustine Gooding.
Nagbo will serve as center referee, while Snyder and Gooding are to be the assistant referees.

The referees have been assigned to the match between Sierra Leone and Morocco in Freetown on Saturday, July 31, 2004.

The match would be a return leg of the clash that will see the first leg taking place in Morocco on the weekend of July 16, 17, and 18, 2004.

Last year, three referees of Liberia were assigned to the 2004 Nations Cup qualifying encounter between the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone and the Atlas Lions of Morocco in Freetown.

The match, which ended 0-0, was handled by the then Chief Referee of Liberia, Idrissa Kaba (now retired), Sylvester Rennie and Buster Snyder
