Liberia moves up in FIFA rankings

Reported by Horatio Bobby Willie
Liberia has moved one step above in the 2006 August FIFA monthly
rankings.
Liberia moved from 136 in the world to 135.
The country maintained its ranking in Africa. Liberia stayed at
number 36 on the continent for the second month running.
It remains the lowest ranked country in its 2008 African Cup of
Nations qualifying group.
The monthly rankings are based on the country’s current form in
world football activities.
Indonesia where Liberia has a large concentration of players was
ranked 146th by FIFA.
This means Liberia is 16 places above Indonesia in world football.
Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Egypt are the top five in
Africa.
