LFA Presidential aspirant Siaka Sheriff, VOP aspirant Adoulf Lawrence
and delegation which includes Campaign Manager Andy Quamie and deputy
Henry Yanton completed the historic campaign visit on Wednesday March
15, in Cestos City, River Cess County and Grand Bassa County as part
of the campaign activities for the March 18, 2006 LFA Elections.
During the visit to the two counties, Mr. Sheriff and delegation
received a rousing welcome from the River Cess County Sub-Association
Chairman Jasper Ben as well as some clubs of the county.
During his welcome statement, Mr. Ben said he was very happy to have
for the first time in the county's history an official of the LFA to
visit the city of Cestos.
He said football administrators and players in Cestos City will for a
long time remain grateful to Sheriff for visiting the county in order
to see the plight of the players and inspect the football facilities
there.
Mr. Sheriff, who is contesting for the position of president of the
LFA, and aspirant of the VPO position Adoulf Lawrence, were taken on a
guided tour of the main stadium of Cestos City.
Having seen the stadium, and assessed and seen the plight of the
players, Mr. Sheriff presented four footballs, a set of nets, and
Referee's caution documents.
He noted that as long as he continues to dream and eat football, he
will work towards improving the game at the highest level in the
country.
Later during the day, he visited the Grand Bassa Sub-Association and
made similar contribution to help improve the standard of the game.
He and Mr. Lawrence also identified with the Bassa Defenders Club by
presenting two footballs to the club.
