Football Association Elects Female President

Monrovia (AND) The local football association in Liberia has elected a
Liberia female sports administrator as president of the football
association.
Cllr. Isetta Wesley was elected over the weekend at the 12th, extra
ordinary session of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) with 88
delegates of the local football house voting.
At the end of the poll, Cllr. Wesley who was the incumbent head of the
football association, won with 45 votes over 43 obtained by her
closest rival Mr. Siakia A. Sherriff.
Mr. Sherrif served under Cllr. Wesley as Vice President for Operation
before the poll.
The female Liberian soccer administrator will now served the FA for
the next four years as its head. She became at official of the FA when
she was elected four years ago as Vice President for Administration,
the second highest position in the FA.
Also during the poll, Mr. Pennoh Bestman, a former president of one of
the local clubs, was elected as Vice President for Administration. He
won the position unopposed.
For the position of Vice President for Operation, Mr. Adolp Lawrence
emerged winner over Bedford Weeks with 52 to 34 votes.
The elected officials will now serve a four year term and will be
tasked with the responsibility of reawakening the dormant soccer
program of the country as well as qualifying Liberia for the 2008
African Nations Cup and the 2010 World Cup finals.
