Liberia's preparations for the forthcoming Nations Cup qualifier
against Ethiopia have ground to a dramatic halt.
Training for locally-based players at the National Stadium in
Monrovia has stopped due to a lack of funds.
Liberian FA secretary-general, Yanqueh Borsay, told the local media
that money allocated for a 15-day training camp has run out.
Borsay said: "We were only given funding by the Ministry of Sports
to cover a fifteen-day training exercise, and we now need additional
funding to continue."
How do they expect us to deliver when we're not being
treated well?

Earlier this week, the players were stranded at the National
Stadium as there was no transport available for them after a training
session.
"How do they expect us to deliver when we're not being treated
well?" asked one of the team's senior members who requested anonymity.
The Liberians will almost certainly be without some of their key
players for next weekend's tie in Addis Ababa.
Many of the Lone Star's overseas-based stars have refused to answer
the call of national duty because there is no money to pay for their
travel expenses.
The Liberian government has told the FA that it cannot help
financially as resources have been diverted to the ongoing fight
against the rebels in the north and northwest of the country.
