Liberian international Anthony Laffor scored a hat-trick and set-up
another goal as SuperSport United whipped Mamelodi Sundowns 4-1.
The victory ended Sundowns hope of challenging for the premier
soccer league championship.
Laffor netted in the 23rd minute and set-up Daine Klate for the
second five minutes later.
The Liberian blasted home in the 65th minute after Glen Salmon had
set him up and then finished off the rout with another one-touch
goal in the 78th minute.
Collins Mbesuma poked home in the 86th minute from a Benedict
Vilakazi but it was too late for a comeback
According to Supersport United website, Bafana Bafana coach Joel
Santana was in the stands and wished Laffor was South African as the
United number 10 tormented the hosts with his silky touches.
The modest playmaker would not accept any credit despite scoring a
hat-trick as his team won 4-1 and said it was a team effort and was
just happy to be a part of the team.
Laffor told his club website, he created some chances and scored
because that’s what he’s being paid to do.
The Liberian is now the top scorer for the club in the Premier
Soccer League with eight goals to his credit.
