Points Again
-As Barrolle Extends Lead

Inconsistent LPRC Oilers, under the tutelage of
impish and jesting Coach Gabriel Johns, dropped points again as the
chase for the championship of the Liberia Football Association (LFA)
premiership draws nearer.
The gold and black outfit forced defending
champions Liberia Black Star to a 1-1 draw at the Antoinette Tubman
Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia Sunday, October 18, 2009.
Oilers moved second on the 18 teams’ LFA premier
log despite the draw with 63 points from 32 matches and just two
matches remaining against Gedi and Sons and Monrovia Club Breweries.
In Buchanan City Grand Bassa County, title
hopeful Mighty Barrolle struggled and got a hard earned 2-1 victory
over relegation bound FC AK.
Substitute Sam Andrews put mighty in front with a
fantastic strike before midfield hero Little Lewis added the second.
FC AK pulled a late goal, but it could not stop
the Rollers from maintaining the top of the LFA premiership.
Mighty Barrolle remained on top of the 18 teams’
LFA premiership table with 67 points from 32 matches and two more
games to go against USA FC at the ATS and Jubilee FC in Buchanan.
A win in her last two matches will see the
Rollers clinch the title.
Meanwhile, BYC faces USA FC today in what
promises to be one of the best matches as far as local football is
concern.
BYC will be hopping to mount pressure on Mighty Barrolle for the
championship, while USA will hope to clear from the danger zone, the
