LONE STAR SHORT OF FOREIGN
SUPPORT

Not
until the re-introduction of Coach Kadala Kromah as Head Coach of the
Lone Star, the former has always relied on its foreign support.
However, the tempo at which
George Weah and battalion could undergo extreme difficulty under
strain circumstances to ensure that Lone Star was represented no
matter what the situations were need
not be over emphasized.
HEAD
COACH:
Kadalah Kromah
Their determination and nerve
to participate in twin competition while struggling to maintain grips
with their overseas employers vouched for their “MEN” nomenclature.
Consequently, these foreign
players were ready to dip into their pockets, arrive at destinations
late and risk being sidelined by their respective clubs.
With the team always ill
prepared owing to the lack of funding from the appropriate authority
meant the desire for a win rested solely on the foreign exploits with
little home support.

At these moments, one would at
first express an opened suspicion in the team until George Weah and co
show their faces, hopes were always palpable even if the opponents
were greater and the venue away from home.
In fact, the secret of
expressed optimism was plain for most of the squad was attached and
were frequently faring at top speed in Europe.
Although there was shocking
moments and disappointments, Liberians still had something to console
themselves with anyway.
Today, those gallant “MEN” are
almost gone in place of the “ACT-22”, a structure that favours “BOYS”
with nothing changed in stature as far as funding all the Lone Star
teams are concerned.
Albeit, this Home-made
arrangement that looks quite inundated and disguised judging from what
is obtaining now, Coach Kromah will have to vanguard for more support
in financial terms to certify that the “BOYS’ guarantee for the
expired “MEN”.
But whether these locally made
materials-“BOYS” whose outfits depend mainly on exposure acquire from
the highly criticized local league will suffer the hurdles of the
“MEN” remains doubting.
With almost all of the present
foreign support drifting into Africa and Asia from Europe, there are
so many worries on the minds of Coach Kromah in particular and
Liberians in general.
Out of the nine foreign
players that have fielded in the Lone Star two ANC 2004 Qualifying
matches, only Dulee Johnson and Jimmy Dixon (BK Hacken-Sweden Div.I)
hang about in the first division Leagues of Europe.
At the moment, Goalkeeper
Louis Crayton, Chris Wreh, George Gebro and Alvin Kieh clubs remain
unknown by this site.
Prince Daye (Club Africain-Tunisia),
Frank Seator (Esperance-Tunisia), and Larmine Ousam (Floda Bolf-Sweden
Div.III) are the rest in these locations.
