The executive committee of the Liberia National Olympic Committee (LNOC) has cast a vote of no confidence against the president Clemenceau Urey.

The LNOC executive committee, among many allegations, accused Urey of unilaterally running the LNOC.

As of Tuesday, November 25, 2003, Urey was given one week to vacate or face impeachment.

Nearly all of the 24 member executive committee, inclding sports federations and associations as well as elected officials, signed to remove Urey.

Only Urey's close confidante, the LNOC secretary general Morris Kainessie, who may also leave the leadership of the LNOC, refused to sign the document.

The LNOC executive committee staged the coup ahead of the visit of an IOC official Michel Filliau to Liberia. He has since left the country.
