LISCR Punishes Barrolle!
-As IE Nightmare Continues

Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2009 premiership sentimental favorite, LISCR FC got back to wining way when the Hassey Duworko guided side punished Eric Thompson, alias Christian Cole guided side Mighty Barrolle to stay in contention for the top flighty crown.

LISCR FC’s president Mustapha Raji is the happiest man of the moment as his team thrashed heavy weight Mighty Barrolle 2-0 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia in continuation of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2009 premiership.

Vitalis Sieh broke the deadlock in the 30th minute after Hallie Lahai and goalkeeper Samuel Cooper blunder to put LISCF FC in the lead.

The goal puts the blue and white outfit in gear for the second with Patrick “Ronaldinho” Wleh and goal scorer Sieh giving the red and white outfit’s defense mountains to climb.

Mighty Barrolle came closed to finding the equalizer after captain Kuhohn Kulala combined with Weaka Wisseh, but Kulala shot went sailing over the bar.

Apparently being afraid of each other, both teams failed to play attaching football with LISCR using the middle of the park where Frank Jericho Nagbe, Jr. tried to create some dangerous passes for his front men, but Barrolle defense stood the test of time.

Barrolle, in an attempt to mount pressure on LISCR, brought on board striker Kpah Sherman for Seh Coleman in the last minutes of first half, the striker could only spent less than 15 minutes on the park to be substituted in the second stanza.

LISCR held on to her 1-0 lead as the first stanza ended.

Back from recess, it was Barrolle that tried to raise the tempo of the match, but LISCR captain Gizzie Tucan Dorbor, George Baysah, Emmanuel Tarpeh and Benjamin Nyanfor stood firm in denying Barrolle from getting the equalizer.

LISCR substitute lethal striker Ghanefo Kromah put the final nail on Barolle’s head in the 89th minute to earn the maximum three points for the sentimental favorite.

Many keen followers of Mighty Barrolle blamed the technical staff of Barrolle for the team’s defeat.
They argued that the coaches failed to stick to the team that won title challenger Barrack Young Controller (BYC) in Kakata, Margibi County.

Left back William Tokpah was kept on the bench for midfielder Michael Jaesue who failed to create crosses for the front runners, while Seh Coleman was brought on board leaving the legs of Archie Harvey, alias Wright Philips and Wilfred Greenfield who both performed tremendously in the 3-0 win over BYC .

In other matches played, Invincible Eleven (IE) continued her boring performance with a 1-1 draw against Black Star in Kakata, Margibi County.

Mighty Blue Angel continued her terrific show with a 1-0 win over Jubilee FC in Unification Town, Margibi County.

Danger striker Mohammed Varney took pole position of the LFA golden boots chat with a superb penalty as he scored his eighth goal of the season.

At the D.Tweh pitch in New Kru Town in Monrovia, Monrovia Club Breweries and bottom of the table Devereux FC settled to a goalless draw.

The league continues Tuesday, May 12, 2009 with more exciting matches in the various venues.
