LISCR Captain Off To Europe!

By Roland M. Mulbah- rolandmulbah@liberiansoccer.com

Another player of Liberia Football Association (LFA) premier club, LISCR FC, this time around it’s hard working skipper, Gizzie Tucan Dorbor has left the country for the European State of Israel.

Last week two players of LISCR FC, George Baysah and Patrick Doeplah, alias junior boy left the country for Israel and reports say the two are expected to put pen to paper today for an undisclosed second division club.

It is not yet clear which club the LISCR Captain will join, but according to an official of LISCR, the player is being linked with a top rated club of that country.

Gizzie has been one of LISCR president, Mustapha I. Raji favorite players for his wholehearted approach to contemporary football and giving his best to the club.

He helped the team win two LFA knockout championships where he featured in more than two positions during the days of Coach Christopher Matthew Kipi Doe, alias 88.

Dorbor was named Captain in 2008 after showing leadership ability in the 2007 national championship.

The soft spoken Tucan, as he is widely called, made his debut for the National team of Liberia against Mali in Bamako when Liberia lost 4-1.

It can be recalled last month two Israeli scouts visited LISCR FC aim at taking players of LISCR FC as well as other Liberian players to Europe to seek professional contract.

There were uncertainties over the credibility of the scouts since in fact they were unknown, but with up to three players leaving for Europe, it seems there could be something to believe.

Latest development by LISCR boss, Mr. Raji could lead to players quitting their teams to join LISCR FC in an attempt to move to Europe.

It can be recalled LISCR was linked with a move for Mighty Barrolle midfielder, Julius Essien Nah, Oiler goalie Saylee Swen, defender Solomon Wisseh, wingers Victor Nyanti and Jacob Toe during the LFA midseason transfer window.
