What appears to be a drama between the LFA and the Mighty Barrolle
Sports Association concerning recognition of the latter’s interim
leadership is expected to be settled soon, as the LFA wants Barrolle
regularize the procedure in electing an interim leadership.
Speaking to this paper yesterday, the Secretary General of the Mighty
Barrolle Sports Association, Mr. Augustus Gobah said, the Liberia
Football Association has called for the regularization of the
procedure relative to their interim leadership, something they said
was not followed initially.
Mr. Gobah disclosed that according to the LFA status and laws, an
official of the LFA must be present during the selecting or appointing
of any leadership of a club, something he admitted was not done and is
expected to be done very soon.
The BSA’s General Secretary said, the FA is requesting the
regularization of the procedure so it would be represented at the
meeting to appoint or elect an interim leadership, so as to ensure
transparency and accountability to the process.
Mr. Gobah said despite the fact that the FA was requesting the
regularization of its selection or appointing process, it does not
mean that the association does not recognize the club’s interim
leadership, stressing that they and the FA are in constant contact and
their relationship is cordial.
The BSA chief scribe iterated that he sees the request by the LFA as
an advice and will use it to strengthen the good relationship between
the club and the asociation.
Mr. Gobah revealed that relating to the regularization of procedure,
they have already decided to call a general meeting at which time the
FA will be present to monitor the entire process.
