LFA Premiership Update!
-LISCR, Barrolle In “Do or Die”

The Liberia Football Association (LFA)
2009 National league has gained much momentum across the more than
five venues with team aiming to outdo each other for silver wear at
the end of the campaign.
www.liberiansoccer.com Senior Reporter Roland M. Mulbah
brings update of the less than two months old league.
League leader Barrack Young Controller
(BYC) will hope to increase her lead at the top of the table when
the LFA youthful premier outfit engages another heavy weight in the
campaign in the form of Gabriel Johns’ guided LPRC Oilers today at
the Nancy Doe pitch in Kakata, Margibi County.
After suffering a 3-0 defeat to strong
contender Mighty Barrolle, BYC will hope to secure top spot, but
against such burly LPRC Oilers is what observers of Liberian
football are keen to see.
With Captain Jacob Goe, top goal
scorer, Andrew Foday Swaray, Matthew Dede, Momo Sompon and other in
top form, pundits believe Oilers will have mountains to climb.
While it is true that current form is
better than experience in modern days’ football, Oilers equally has
some talented players in the form of Saylee Swen, Bill Janjay Paytoe,
William Jaboe and Captain Solomon Wisseh who are on top of their
game.
Verdict: Oilers wins.
In the last premiership match of
today, United Soccer Ambassador Football Club (USA FC) will hope to
end win drought when the bottom of the table club meets rejuvenated
Gedi and Sons in Unification Town, Margibi County.
USA FC has played nine games and yet to
win and could only manage two draws. Verdict: Draw
Amongst the weekend matches, much
attention will be drown to Sunday’s LFA premier league match between
sentimental favorite LISCR FC and heavy weight Mighty Barroll.
After a superb 3-0 victory over league
leader BYC, the Coach Eric Thompson, alias Christian Cole guided
side will hope to take pole position of the table against Mustapha
Raji’s LISCR FC.
Reports in many quarters say both
presidents, Raji of LISCR FC and Garmondeh Karnga of Barrolle are in
dying need of the match with Raji pledging three times the regular
game bonus to his players if they put up a win, while Karnga
promised to pay players of Mighty Barrolle right at the Antoinette
Tubman Stadium, the venue of the crunch match if they secure a win.
A win for Barrolle and a negative
result for BYC on today against LPRC Oilers will see the red and
white outfit at the top of the 18 teams’ LFA premier log.
Verdict: Barrolle Wins
In other matches in the LFA premiership
on Sunday, May 10, Mighty Blue Angel will battle Jubilee in
Unification Town (verdict MB Angel wins); while Monrovia Club
Breweries and Devereux FC will engage each other at the D. Tweh
pitch in new Kru Town.
Meanwhile Jasmine Rangers lost
yesterday 2-0 to Adorence FC, while Monrovia Club Breweries and UMC
Roots settled to a goalless draw.
