About 90 percent of the chase for the
championship of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) premiership
will be decided today when title hopeful Mighty Barrolle meets
struggling United Soccer Ambassador (USA) FC today, Wednesday, October
21, 2009 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
The kanyan pepper outfit, Mighty Barrolle
currently tops the elite division of Liberian football with 67 points
from 32 matches and needs just four points from the last two matches
to be crowned champions.
A win for the Rollers today and any negative
result from second placer Barrack Young Controller (BYC) and third
placer LPRC Oilers will see the championship come to an end.
Barrolle has attached much importance to the
crunch match against USA FC with 18 regular players being called on
camp.
Probable Lineup For Barrolle (4-4-2)
Goalkeeper
This is no secret that head Coach Eric Thompson,
alias Christian Cole will depend on his regular safer pair of gloves,
Samuel Cooper who has done so much well in the Rollers’ mission to win
the LFA premiership.
The lad, who won the LFA best goalkeeper award in
2009, will hope to retain the award as he leads Barrolle to such
important encounter.
Back four
If you have been a keen follower of Mighty
Barrolle, then the team’s line up is easy to deduce.
Arthur Jerry will no doubt play at right back
after a consistent season at such position, but the Rollers will make
a brief change in defense with the latest reports that former USA FC
Captain, William Tokpah could operate at left back probably in an
attempt to show what he is made of against his former team giving
Samuel Tisdell, the pocket sized versatile player the chance to rest
after regularly playing at said position.
Midfield
quartet
Four household names in Liberian football in
recent times in terms of consistency are expected to form part of the
Rollers’ Midfield quartet.
Might Barrolle most improved player, Wilfred
Greenfield will operate as the holding man and will at times operate
as the destroyer, while genius in the middle of the park in the form
of deputy Captain, Little Lewis will serve as the distributor and he
has been given the straight order to concentrate on his role.
Barrolle’s wingers in such decided match will see
Archie Harvey and General Captain Nuzohn Kulala operate as wingers.
Front Two
This is one attack in the LFA premiership that
defenders find it complicated to contain.
Barrolle top goal scorer, Weaka Wisseh and Sam
Andrew will be the players all the burdens will rest on, especially
Andrews, who made a record transfers from USA to Mighty Barrolle.
Reports say Barrolle will hand the Captain band
to the 2008 LFA premiership top goal scorer in an attempt to punish
his former club.
While Mighty Barrolle may be at the verge of
celebrating the LFA premiership and with some of the country’s best
talents on hand to do the job, their struggling opponent should not be
taken as pushovers with some talented players on hand also for USA who
could cause an upset for the Rollers.
Joseph Broh, George Wreh, Jadoe, Roosevelt Blity
and goalie Barclay are some players whop could cause damage in the
closing moments of the LFa
premiership.
