National League First Phase Closes-In
… As Barrolle, Mighty Blue Angels Lead

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) national league, first phase
has reached its finishing touches with several wrap-up matches
played over the weekend.
On Saturday, Barrack Young Controller (BYC) crushed Bassa Defender
2-1 and Pro Anchors felt at the hands of Earth Angels, 1-3, while
Electrons and Green Angels settled to a goalless draw on Sunday.
On Sunday, Tito United dumped Kortie IE 3-0 in the female division.
During that match, Bassie Doe of Kortie IE scored an own goal while
Apodohoe Barewn netted Tito’s two other goals.
Out of eight matches played by each teams in the premier, first and
second divisions, some teams scored high marks which qualified them
to be among the first four teams of their division.
In the premier division, Mighty Barrolle grabbed 18 points out of
eight matches thus topping the LFA premier division. LISCR FC
followed with 14 points with one outstanding match and LPRC Oilers
managed to clinch the third position with 14 points.
Monrovia Black Star secured 12 points out of eight matches to finish
fourth in the premier division, while NPA Anchor wrap-up the phase
with 10 points to hold the fifth position on the league table.
Newly promoted Watanga FC, Mark Pro and Roots FC are in the seventh,
eighth, and ninth positions respectively, obtaining 8, 7 and 2
points.
The three teams risk relegation as they already lied in a dangerous
position with uncompromising points.
In the first division, one of Liberia oldest club, Invincible Eleven
(IE) who were relegated from the premier division last season poorly
performed by finishing sixth on the table.
Out of eight games played, IE shockingly got 10 points, while ever
improving Mighty Blue Angels, with their outstanding performances
grabbed 15 points to top the LFA first division table.
Alliance FC and Zelor FC followed in the second and third position
with fourteen and thirteen points while Gedi & Son and USA Invader
secured 12 points each to stand firm in the fourth and fifth
position respectively.
Karn United, Barrack Young Controller (BYC) and Bassa Defender are
the three teams at the button of the table with 9, 7, and 4 points
respectively.
