LFA Hails MYS!

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) extols the vision and
leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) for the
successful two-day National Sports Consultative Conference held at the
Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex, regarding the formulation of
the first-ever National Sports Policy in Liberia.
In a press release signed by its president, Madam Sombo Izetta Wesley,
the local football house believes that the future and growth of sports
nationally can be attained with great heights when there is a national
consciousness and commitment directed at instituting a more
coordinated and collaborative sports development programs which are
tailored strategically around the achieved of both the sporting
development goals but more intricately linked to provide support to
other development programs of national development.
Meanwhile, the LFA hails talks of the establishment of a National
Sports Council (NSC) that will serve to more directly work with local
sports federations in the country.
The LFA believes the creation of the Council will be to mobilize
resources for the growth and development of sports nationally.
The Council accordingly, will serve to execute the National Sports
Policy in straight conformity with established guidelines and
integrity.
The local football house calls for early discussions on structures,
composition, scope and responsibility of the Council as this is the
single most vital component of the overall policy development process
that will enhance the chances of success for implementation.
The LFA avails itself to this important process and remains
purposefully engaged with this critical undertaking.
