The extraordinary Congress of the Liberia
Football Association (LFA) which should have been held Saturday,
November 21, 2009 has been postponed.
According to the Acting Secretary General of the
local football house, Mr. Sam Bedford, the congress was postponed due
to the failure of the audited documents to be completed.
He also hinted liberiansoccer.com that the
extraordinary Congress was postponed after the Federation for
International Football Association (FIFA) failed to confirm the
revised Statute of the LFA.
Two matters were to be discussed at the LFA
extraordinary Congress.
Stakeholders were to discuss the revised Statute
of the LFA as well as the financial report.
An auditing firm, Voscon began its audit of the
financial records of the LFA during the course of the week.
A five man committee headed by newly elected Executive Committee
member Musa A. Baility was appointed during the last LFA congress to
put out a bid in the print media to audit the LFA’s account.
