LFA Best Awards Released

It is headed by three top rated Liberian sports administrators, Musa A. Bility, President of Watanga FC, Mustapha I. Raji, president of LISCR FC and Andy Quamie senior Vice President of Watanga FC.      

It has been for a protracted period since the Liberia Football Association (LFA) premiership ended with heavy weight, Mighty Barrolle emerging as champions of the 18 teams’ premiership, while sensational LPRC Oilers and youthful Barrack Young Controller (BYC) securing runners-up and third place respectively.

While the players are on vacation after showcasing their talents in the top flight of Liberian football, with some on course of seeking professional contracts oversea, connoisseurs can look back with much to remember in terms of the dram, excitement and verve which were associated with top flight Liberian footballer.

Best Coach Award

Winner: Eric Thompson, alias Christian Cole (Mighty Barrolle)

LFA most decorated coach, Eric Thompson; alias Christian Cole won his challengers, Abraham Sese of (BYC) and Gabriel Johns of (LPRC Oilers) to become our best coach of the season.

He was extremely challenged by Sese even though the young coach took third place in the premiership.

Eric Thompson guided the Rollers to clinch the LFA premiership for the third time.  

Best Referee

Winner: Ignatius Wleh Nimley

 Latest voting from our many readers revealed LFA Senior National referee, Ignatius Wleh Nimley as the best referee for LFA in the just concluded LFA premiership.

Further reports have also indicated that the towering whistle man is the favorite to win the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) best referee award.

He showed superb performance and he is indeed one of Liberia’s best referees.

Best Assistant Referee

Winner: Joseph Hoff

Many believe the rising referee; Joseph Hoff can be one of Liberia’s best after a splendid performance in the just concluded league.

He handled some bigger matches and proved he can represent Liberia at FIFA’s level.

Best Goalkeeper

Winner: Samuel Cooper (Mighty Barrolle)

 The lad won the likes of Saylee Swen of (LPRC Oilers) and Archieboy Harris of (BYC) to retain the LFA premiership best goalkeeper award after guiding the Rollers to win the Premiership.

Most Valuable Player (MVP)

Winner: Nuzohn Kulala (Mighty Barrolle Captain)

This is one award no one could argue about, with the winner being with no hesitation, the best player on the local scene.

The Mighty Barrolle Captain, Nuzohn Kulala showed great performance as the Rollers became champions of the LFA premiership.

He is currently in Egypt on tryout with Egyptian premier club, El Gouna.

Best defender

Winner: Sam Peters (Mighty Barrolle)

This was one department that had serious contention, but after days of voting by our readers as well as some journalists, Mighty Barrolle defense hero, Sam Peters emerged as winner narrowly over LPRC Oilers’ Bill Paytoe.

The lad was consistence and he is among the country’s best defenders

Club President of the Year

Winner: Garmondeh Karnga (Mighty Barrolle)

 If Mr. Garmondeh Karnga is not the most successful president of Mighty Barrolle, than he is among the first three most successful presidents with such great records for the Rollers at the helm of authority as president.

He has the record as the most successful president in the LFA premiership after winning two out of the three premierships.

He has guided Barrolle to participate in two CAF competitions and he is at the verge of doing so for the third time.  

Best Midfielder    

Winner: Little Lewis (Mighty Barrolle

Most Discipline Player

Winner: Alex Whittmore (LPRC Oilers)

Young Player of the year

Winner: Archie Harvey (Mighty Barrolle)   

 Team Manager of the year
