-As Chairman Sheriff Hails Attendance

Classical contemporary football came to the fore
on July, 27, 2009 during the celebration of Liberia’s 162nd
Independence celebration when Liberia Football Association (LFA)
Baller, headed by young and determined Joseph Sheriff as Chairman,
flogged the ostentatious Alpha Hatai Center located at Carey Street.
The epic clash brought together members of LFA
Baller as well as fans and followers of Liberian football as Baller
tried to regain its normal status after being dormant for a protracted
period due to the lack of leadership.
Tokpah Rokpson, Tony FC boss and others rattled
the net as Baller walloped Alpha Hatai center with a 4-0 score line at
the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monroviua.
Although Baller newly confirmed Chairman, Mr.
Joseph Sheriff could not played the match due to injury, but the young
and soft spoken administrator presence was felt as he helped the
technical staff with guidance as the team secured one of its biggest
victories.
Many top officials of the local football house as
well as fans and followers of Liberian football have seen Baller’s new
Chairman, Mr. Sheriff as a unifier and the right leader at the right
time who can revamp the Social and Athletic club to be on par with
other top rated organizations in Liberia.
After the
match followed what was called “get together” where both teams shared
drinks and other food items as Baller got on course.
After the match, Baller newly confirmed Chairman,
Mr. Joseph Sheriff said his ascendancy at the helm of Baller is to
unite employees of the LFA as well as other affiliates and make
balkler second to none.
The chairman who works as cashier of the local
football house said the attendance from the first match shows that
members are willing to work in bringing Baller to its normal status.
“Let me firstly give thanks and appreciations to
all members of Baller for attending this first match.
“This shows that you are willing to work with
this new leadership.
“I can assure you that I have not taken over
Baller as Chairman to be an authoritarian, but to serve and make LFA
Baller second to none,” Chairman Sheriff noted in a rather happier
frame of mind.
Chairman Sheriff noted that there will be a big
meeting on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the headquarters of the LFA at
ATS where some officials of Baller are expected to be named.
He said he was glade that Mr. Reuben R. Johnson,
whom he regards as a man with good leadership skills and
recommendations, has accepted the offer to serve as co-chairman of
Baller, while Alphanso Armah has accepted the Secretary General role.
“Johnson and Armah have good working
relationships and we are glad they have accepted the positions.
“The Saturday’s meeting will also see other
positions like the Chaplain, Financial officer and others named,”
Sheriff said.
LFA Baller is a Social and Athletic club at the
local football house aim at uniting workers of LFA.
The club was inactive for quite a protracted
period due to lack of leadership, but the coming on board of Sheriff
as Chairman, pundits believe all is now well with LFA Baller.
Sheriff has worked at the LFA for quite a
protracted period and he has had tremendous working relationship with
his comrades.
He came on board as Chairman of Baller after more
than 85 percent of Baller members signed a resolution to see him take
the helm of authority of the club.
He has pledged his commitment in taking LFA Baller to higher heights.
