LFA Told To
Somersault On Weah

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The Chairman of the Friends of Friends Haitai Association (FOFHA)
William N. Tokpa has called the Liberia Football Association (LFA) to
rescind its decision to reject the appointment of George Weah to the
leadership of Bassa Defender FC.
The FOFHA Chairman believes the development of soccer and sports in
general, largely depends on the involvement of Weah.
Mr. Tokpa, hence, warned the LFA against using its statutes as a
means of preventing the Liberian soccer legend from contributing to
the improvement of the game that made him a household name in Liberia,
if not the world over.
At the same time, the FOFHA Chairman frowned on the LFA for
rejecting the likes of Lewis Browne of Barrolle as legitimate
president of the club, days after the football governing body failed
to endorse the appointment of Weah.
Tokpa termed the LFA as incompetent for allowing itself to deal with
Mr. Browne as president of Barrolle for years only to reject him
now. |
