Knockout Fixture
-IE Meets Barrolle

The Liberia Football Association (LFA)
has released the fixture for the 2004 Knockout Tournament among male
and female clubs.
Following the draw recently, the tournament will
begin on Wednesday, July 21, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS)
in Monrovia.
In the first match, a second division derby
will see Devereux hosting LMA Green Pepper.
The second battle will involve Black Stars of division one and LPRC
Oilers of the Premier League.
On Thursday, July 22, division two side
Zelors will meet Roots of division one in match one before two
second division sides, Millennium Star and Karn United meet in the
match to follow.
The tournament continues on Friday, July 23,
among four division two clubs. Barracks Young Controllers (BYC) will
take on Watanga FC, while Haja FC will go against St. Joseph
Warriors.
The tournament resumes on Wednesday, July 28. Shoes FC of the
Premier League will clash with Roza of division one, while two
Paynesville-based division two sides Cardinals and Mighty Electrons
will meet.
Bassa Defender of the first division will face Sounjata
Warriors of division two.
Professional Anchors Sisters will thereafter meet
Pointer Sisters in the female category on Friday, July 30. On
Saturday, July 31, female sides Blanco and Kortie IE will open the
day before the big match between Invincible Eleven (IE) and their
archrivals Mighty Barrolle will be held.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 1, Premier League
Club Alliance FC will fight against Young Survivors of the first
division. Before then, female sides World Girls and Tito United will
come eye to eye.
The first round will come to an end on Tuesday, August
3, with two other clashes. Game one will be between Juventus Olympic
of the second division and Monrovia Club Breweries whereas LISCR FC
will meet NPA Anchors.
The winner of the Devereux-LMA clash will subsequently
face the reigning male champions Mighty Blue Angels in the second
round on August 4.
The current female champions Earth Angels will
meet either Professional Anchors Sisters or Pointer Sisters on
Tuesday, August 10.
