LFA Holds 11th
Ordinary Congress, Honors Samuel K. Doe, Wotorson, Others,

The Liberia Football Association (LFA), over the weekend, held its
11th ordinary congress at the YMCA building in Monrovia.
During the occasion, which was attended by delegates from various
clubs and sub-committees of the LFA among others, several individuals
including post-humous who are considered veterans in the soccer arena,
were honored by the association.
Those honored by the local football house are, the late former
Liberian president Samuel Kanyon Doe; John P. Tucker, McKinley A,
Deshield, Cletus Wortorson, Willis Knuckles, Vava George, Bolling
Doekieh among others.
Speaking at the occasion, LFA president Cllr. Sumo Izetta Wesley,
congratulated the honorees saying the country Liberia will continue to
remember them for their endeavors in promoting the game of football in
the country.
She said the LFA will continue to identify those who have contributed
to the success of the organization to honor them as it has done in the
case of the honorees.
The LFA boss noted that the recognition of the efforts of these
individuals who have assisted with work of the organization would be
done in stages over a period of time until the list can be endless.
In a related development, the LFA has conducted bi-elections within
the association to fill the vacancy created as a result of the
resignation of its former president, Mr. Edwin Snowe.
Because of Mr. Snowe's resignation on February 14,2004, the then vice
president for Administration of the association, Cllr. Sumo Izetta
Wesley ascended to the position of president thus creating a vacancy.
During the bi-elections, Mr. Pennoh Bestman, president of Monrovia
Black Stars, was elected vice president for operation while Mr. Siaka
Sheriff who was VP/Operations, was elected vice president for
Administration.
