-IE Vs. NPA-Pythons Sat.; Oilers Vs. Barrolle Sunday
February 18, 2003
Following a week break due to the
recently held National University Games, the Liberia Basketball
Federation (LBF) National League continues unabated at the Sports
Commission this week.
Today at the Sports Commission,
Supreme Sisters and K-Deltas will face each other in the first match,
while Timberwolves and T-Chons will run the floor in their second
division clash. The last game will see LPRC Oilers going against
Bushrod Bulls in what is expected to be a crowd puller.
Oilers are expected to parade Barchue Toure,
William Papus Kennedy, Vessellie Yarkpazuo, Philip Kperue, Charles
Cummings, among others.
On Friday, February 21, Don Bosco Legends and
Sinkor Knights will take the center stage for the first match in the
female division. Supreme Brothers and Sacbase will sought things out
in the first division, while the last game will see Raiders taking on
Uhuru Kings.
On Saturday, February 22, K-Deltas will lock
horns with Timberwolves in the female division, while Invincible
Eleven (IE) and the deadly NPA-Pythons will run the floor. Pythons are
still fresh from the demolition of Mighty Barrolle. And so can the
Yellow Boys make it against arguably the best team in the country?
LBF’s most valuable player Suah Williams, arguably Liberia’s best
guard Raphael Quaye, Rudolph Vinton, James Williams, Armah Bakana,
Mark Smith, Alphonso K. Quiah and others will be on hand for the
match.
Then come Sunday, February 22 when Mighty Barrolle
takes on LPRC Oilers. This one will be the clash of the week. Barrolle
said it will not lose two matches in succession, while Oilers say the
Rollers will fall at all cost.
Basketball fans can only go to the Sports
Commission this Sunday to watch for themselves and don’t wait to be
told.
