L.F.A. finally elects Secretary General

The Liberia Football Association has a new Secretary General.


He is human rights advocate George Williams.

Mr. Williams won the race for Secretary General ahead of former Lone Star Captain Washington Blay.

The Executive Committee of the LFA voted for the Secretary General during a meeting on Thursday evening.

LFA President Cllr.Izetta Wesley said the naming of a new secretary general was a sign of progress for the association.

Cllr.Wesley said the executive committee would now begin to focus on the growth of the game in the country.

George Williams who is the new Secretary General defeated former Lone Star Captain Washington Blay by 8votes to 6.

The man named as secretary general said his main objective would be to reunite the executive committee of the football house.

Mr. George Williams said there exist a deep level of division in the group.

Mr. Williams said the division would not move the association forward.

He said he would also hold a retreat among members of the LFA Executive Committee.

Mr. Williams who once served as Assistant Secretary General of Invincible Eleven said he would also focus on the improvement of the local league.
