The national coach of Liberia has unveiled his foreign
legion for the match with Togo.
The list of foreign based players announced by Lone Star head coach
Kadallah Kromah comprises those from the United States, Asia, Europe
and Ghana.
Coach Kromah has decided to stick to his midfield duo
of Anthony Langford and Ben Teekloh, who both play for Ghanaian side
Obuasi Goldfields.
He also named the United States quartet of Zizi Roberts
(Colorado Rapids), John Menyongai, Francis Doe (both of Minnesota
Thunders) and Chris Gbandi, a defender with the Dallas Burns.
After failing to get hold of the England based
Collins John, the coach made a try by calling Samuel Wowoah.
Wowoah is known to be a Liberian born player. He grew up in
Sweden where he has been living and playing soccer. Wowoah has a
permanent deal with the Swedish champions Djugardens, but he is now
playing on loan in Norway.
Also selected from Sweden are the BK Hacken duo of
defender Jimmy Dixon and striker Dioh Williams. The two were part of
the team that walked over Mali but they failed to show up in
Brazzaville on grounds that they missed their flight.
Another surprise call is the
inclusion of striker Jonah Sarwieh.
The former IE, Africa Sports and Istanbulspor forward is now
playing in Bahrain, where James Debbah also plies his trade.
Indian based goalkeeper Sunday Seah also got a
call likewise George Gebro of Greek club Patraiakos, who failed to
convert a penalty against Congo Brazzaville.
Some of the players, including George Gebro, Sunday
Seah, Anthony Langford, Ben Teekloh, Jonah Sarwieh and Francis Doe
are already in Monrovia where the team is making preparations for
the match.
