Unlike a few other Liberian clubs that failed to participate in last five CAF Competitions, Mighty Blue Angels joins the enviable crusade of flying Liberia’s flag in this year African Cup Winners Cup Competition.

The Liberian club with nothing to their name and bluntly new in African competition, engages the famous Asante Kotoko of Ghana to contest the Mandela Cup between February 14-March 2, 2003.

Although not much is known of how the Liberians are preparing, Asante Kotoko are set to make amends for last season’s inadequacies.

Having squandered the golden opportunity of becoming the first Ghanaian club to lift the African Cup Winners Cup, the Porcupine Warriors are back from their mourning hideouts.

Kokoto Chairman Herbert Mensah , confirming another year at the rudder of the club, is keen on his fleet of great players.

To make certain their vows of rekindling high performance in the African Cup Winners Cup this season, the Kumasi-based club will be hoping to strategize well in the Ghalca Tourney that comes on shortly in Ghana, the club official newspaper, Kotoko Express has reported.

The Ghalcal Tourney, which is an annual affair hosted by the Ghana League Clubs Association, will comprise six-time League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak, runners-up Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals FC and Accra Great Olympics.
