Mvela Golden League followers can brace themselves for a new sensational striker tipped to follow in the footsteps of his countryman, the legendary Liberian striker George Weah.

James Lomell, who is also playing for the Liberian national team, is set to rattle net regularly for FC AK. The boy has been promoted from the reserve team of FC AK where he regularly banged the goals in, and scooped a couple of Golden Boot and Player of the tournament awards.

Lomell is a gifted player who oozes a lot of confidence and very composed in the box, an aspect that would give the defenders some torrid. His clinical finishing will surely give goalkeepers nightmares.

Lomell has been capped 11 times with the senior national team and twice with his Olympic team. Before coming down to South Africa, Lomell played for Oil Company owned side LPRC-Oliers and scored a total number of 4 goals in the six games he played in his last season.

Stealing the shows at tournaments is just one Lomell's habits as he scooped the leading goalscorer and player of the tournament awards at the recent Gert Schalkwyk tournament in the Northern Cape and he also scooped the same awards at the inaugural Brendan Silent Easter Tournament in Klerksdorp.

He told www.fcak .co.za on his readiness to make some impact in the league "I'm one player who believes in his abilities and I am well prepared for the challenge ahead". Former Liberian defender Thomas Kojo tips Lomell for greatness. "This boy will be one of the greatest Liberian players after the great man George Weah". He has all the qualities to match Weah
