Liberia’s former international midfielder Kelvin Sebwe, who
recently resigned his post as deputy head coach of the Lone
Star, has rubbished comments from the President of the
Liberia Football Association Bility Miusa regarding his
resignation.
Mr. Bility told reporters on Saturday that Kelvin had sought
a review of his contract with the national team. “Kelvin
informed me that the first agreement needed some additions
and if not he was bowing out of the deal”, Bility narrated.
When sports reporters engaged Kelvin Sebwe on Saturday at
the Antoinette Tubman Stadium prior to the match between
Senior Pro and LFA All-Star, Kelvin said: “The deal was
disrespect to me as a former national team player and deputy
coach”.
“Bility was offering me US$2,000 as deputy coach; the amount
is zero when it comes to football, and one issue that got me
nutty was the lying attitude Bility displayed over the
period of six months that he was awaiting the signing of
head coach Roberto Landi, before the FA could settle the
deputy coaches and other staffers at the national team.”
He described as very shocking when coach Landi told him that
he had signed his deal earlier during the game with Mali.
According to the FA, the Italian head Coach Roberto Landi
earns a monthly salary of US$10,000, while Kelvin was
offered US$2,000.
